Owned and operated by Matt Scott who grew up in the waters of Gizzy. Matt moved to Auckland when he left school to take his competitive swimming more seriously. While he was there, he completed a Batchelor of Construction Management through a prime minister’s scholarship at Massey University. At the same time working full time on the tools being able to apply what was learn in university into a practical perspective, where an apprenticeship through BCITO was able to be completed, this was done working through a wide range of commercial and residential projects all throughout Auckland.

In 2023 Matt and his partner moved back to Gisborne where he worked as a foreman for a local building company furthering experience in running a variety of projects.

In 2026 Prime Builds Gisborne was established with the aim to run a small family-owned and operated business working it the town we love.
